Mini Hand Pies
Write a review
  1. Two 9" pie crusts-I used Pillsbury refrigerated crusts
  2. 1 jar pie filling, your choice
  3. 1 egg
  4. 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  5. 2 tbsp. milk
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place pie crusts on floured counter or silicone mat.
  3. Using a circle or heart shaped cookie cutter, cut 10 hearts out of each crust.
  4. Place half of the hearts on a separate silicone mat.
  5. Add a generous spoon of pie filling to the middle of the crust.
  6. Beat the egg and add a small splash of water to it.
  7. Using your finger (or small brush) spread the egg on the circle so it covers all of the exposed dough around the jam.
  8. Place another circle on top of the jam and gently press down with your finger to line it up and start sealing it.
  9. Press round the edges with a fork to seal it all in.
  10. Brush the egg mixture on top of each of the pies.
  11. Bake for 20-30 minutes. Keep watch so they don't over cook.
For the GLAZE
  1. Add powdered sugar to a bowl and slowly stir int he milk until it's a smooth, slightly runny consistency.
  2. Drizzle over the pies while they are still warm.
  1. If you don't have cookie cutters, you can use a round glass or cup. That is what I used and it worked like a charm!
