Unstuffed Shells Casserole

I’m always trying new pasta recipes.  It’s my thing! This one was tasty and so easy to make! My family loved it and it was a great quick, busy night meal!  Enjoy!

Unstuffed Shells Casserole

  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 1 clove garlic, minced
  3. 1 (24 oz) jar spaghetti sauce
  4. 4 c. pasta shells or noodles, uncooked
  5. 1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
  6. 1 c. ricotta cheese
  7. 1/2 c. parmesan cheese
  8. 1/4 c. basil, chopped
  9. 1 egg
  10. 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  11. Salt and pepper to taste
  12. 1 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella
  1. Cook pasta to al dente according to package.
  2. In a large skillet, brown hamburger. Drain. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  3. Add pasta sauce and simmer 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, add the cream cheese, ricotta, parmesan cheese, basil, egg, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper. Mix until combined well.
  5. Stir in cooked pasta to cheese mixture.
  6. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  7. Spread half of the meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Layer the pasta mixture on top allowed with a layer of the remaining meat sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese and cover with foil.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes removing the foil for the last 10 minutes of cooking.
  1. You can use any noodles you desire!
  2. It can be made ahead of time and cooked the next day!
  3. I used dried basil, which worked great!

    Sheesh…I finally found you!! What a great idea, I hate stuffing pasta shells, it looks delish!! All the recipes look so delicious, you are such a good cook!
