Freezer Beef Taco Meat

This is the most versatile recipe for beef that I’ve ever had.  It is beyond amazing!  It freezer amazing and tastes even better!  Enjoy!

  1. 4 lbs ground beef
  2. 2 (10 oz) can red enchilada sauce or Mexican red taco sauce
  3. 2 tbsp chili powder
  4. 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  5. 1 tbsp ground cumin
  6. 2 tsp garlic salt
  7. 2 tsp kosher salt
  8. 1 tbsp black pepper
  9. 1 1/2 c. water
  1. In a large pot, brown the beef over medium high heat. Drain off excess fat, leaving a little bit for moisture and flavor.
  2. Add the red sauce. Add the spices and mix well.
  3. Pour in 1 1/2 c. water.
  4. Stir it around. Reduce heat, cover the pot, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Let the meat cool, then package it in freezer quart bags or other freezer container and freeze them flat.
  1. Take out of freezer and place in fridge 24 hours before using, then reheat in sauce pan.
  2. Defrost in microwave according to microwave instructions. Transfer to bowl or pan and reheat.
  3. Just thaw in microwave and cook in microwave.
  1. This goes great on tacos, salads, nachos, burritos...the list goes on!
  2. I froze them in vacuum sealed bags.
  3. There are several ways to use these later. Just taking it out the day before, thawing in microwave and even cooking in microwave! That's why I love it! It isn't picky about when it needs to be taken out and it is already cooked so it is safe!
